Project Evolution (name is not decided yet) is basically a Digimon World 2 clone (or at least it's planning to be).. Currently the plan is to get most core feature implemented..
Currently we have:

  • Battle System (finished)
  • Ability System (ongoing) - target is at least 2 - 3 monster
  • Procedural Dungeon (ongoing) - a simple cave
  • Dungeon Exploration (ongoing) - dungeon exploration with vehicle (tanks?)
  • City Exploration (planned)
  • World Map Exploration (to be decided)

Latest Update - 22 Sep 2024

From now on the development might be slow since there's few bits that I still need to learn and practice.. I will also change the game story and change the entire description later when I had time.. I also got so much deadline for my work so might not be able to work on this as much as before..

I also added downloadable exe since I want to keep playable webgl version small and quickly playable as a demo (might be just battle only) and the .exe will have full feature at least until I the all system done, and then I might consider to make to Steam release or something like that when I got the money to pay for the registration fee

Anyway, I'll take any help I can get so feel free to donate if you like the project, and sorry if I can't do much and can only give my thanks to you for now

Update:

  • 30 Aug 2024 -> Setup project and install needed plugins
  • 31 Aug 2024 -> Setup Turn battle system asynchronously using UniTask
  • 1 Sep 2024 -> Create some timeline module for faster attack sequence creation
  • 2 Sep 2024 -> Scrap idea of trying to make it to gamejam and redefine ability system for future use
  • 3 Sep 2024 -> Basic prototype of ability system done (like unreal GAS but much more simpler, intended for my own usage)
  • 5 Sep 2024 -> Refactor current battle system using new ability system
  • 7 Sep 2024 -> Add Battle Win Event
  • 8 Sep 2024 -> Add Battle Lose Event
  • 22 Sep 2024 -> Just placing few things in battle area for inspiration
  • 24 Sep 2024 -> Adding proper versioning module so its going to use semantic versioning from now on

The game is created from scratch started at August 30th, 2024, to join Sasquatch B gamejam at first with name of GeniEvolution (as theme for it is Evolution and mandatory using Genie Asset), but it was still far away from completed state, so I just drop the gamejam and take it slow from here
